Today I came across a group of ladies who are doing 100 cards in 100 days challenge and I decided to join them! It sounds like fun! The idea of this challenge is to not buy any new crafting items (hubby will love that) and use the items we already have. My 100 day starts today and runs through Sept 13th, wish me luck!

So this is my first card for my 100 cards in 100 days challenge. I promised my son that he could have a pool party and I made this invitation for him to hand out to the boys in his class at school. I wanted to keep it fairly simple and I really didn't want to do a ton of coloring so this is what I came up with. I used a technique called spotlighting and it's an easy technique. Simply stamp your image again onto a scrap piece of card stock and color the portion if the image you want and then punch it out and then place it over top of your original stamped image.

The inside of the invitations reads-

The sun is hot and the water is cool

It's time for a party by the pool!

Let's get together for no special reason

To celebrate friends and the summer season!

Bring your sunscreen, towel, and swim suit

We’ll have food, refreshments, & more who knows!
