Well, it's Friday and I'm looking forward to a quiet (I hope) weekend with my husband and the children. So far we don't have any big plans for the weekend. Tomorrow morning I'm taking my daughter to Old Navy to do some shopping for some school clothes.
My daughter and I were able to find some of the '$50 off $100 or more' coupons for Old Navy. If you would like more information on how you can find some Old Navy coupons here is a link from one of my previous posts. I have more information posted there.
I was talking to my brother in law just a few days ago and I told him that I would make Christmas cards for him this year. I loved the clean & simple challenge from this past Monday and I wanted to make some more cards using some form of bling. I also wanted to make some Cuttlebug cards and so these are the cards that I came up with. I was also trying to see if I could come up with some cards that my brother in law and his wife might like to use for their Christmas cards this year. (Hi Angie & Brian ;)
The first card that I made was really easy to make. I used the Winter House embossing folder and I just added some glitter to the roofs of the houses and on the snowflakes in the sky. I added the glitter using Iridescent Ice embossing powder and a versa mark marker.
The snowflakes are from a Cuttlebug die called Snowflake #2. I added a bling gem in the center of the snowflakes. The Season's Greetings sentiment is from SU's Snow Swirled and my organdy ribbon and silver cording are from SU.
The second card I made is embossed using the Cuttlebug embossing folder called 'Snow Dots'. To make this card I placed my card stock partially inside the embossing folder and then ran it through my Cuttlebug machine.
Right below the snow dots embossing I used my scor-pal to add three horizontal embossed lines (it's hard to see because my ribbon is placed over it, but I wanted to create some sort of separation from the embossed area to the non-embossed area).
Again the snowflakes on this card are from a Cuttlebug die called Snowflake #2. The Season's Greetings sentiment is from SU's Snow Swirled and my organdy ribbon is from Offray.
My next card is created using the Snow Dots and Swiss Dots embossing folder.
I partially embossed the top part of my card stock using the Snow Dots folder. Next, I used my Swiss Dots embossing folder on the other side of my card stock and I ran that through my cuttlebug machine. Then I added a decorative score line, using my scor-pal, below the Snow Dots embossed area, and above the Swiss Dots embossed area.
I decided to add some Liquid Pearls in the center of each embossed snowflake, but now I'm not quite sure that I like the way that it turned out. I think next time I'll skip the Liquid Pearls.
My organdy ribbon on this card and my silver cording are both from SU. Again, my Season's Greetings sentiment is from SU's Snow Swirled.
This is the last card that I made using my
cuttlebug folders. I think that I like this card the best. It's similar to the card that I made earlier this week for Monday's clean & simple challenge. You can see that card here.
I used my Cuttlebug Lace Tree embossing folder on this card. I placed the tree to the right side of my card and then I used my scor-pal to create the vertical score lines on the left side.
I added some red and clear bling gems to my embossed tree image.
My sentiment is from SU's Cute Converse stamp set and it is layered using Real Red cardstock.
I used my small and large oval punches for my sentiment and my ribbon is from Offray.
Well, that's about it for my Christmas themed Cuttlebug cards! I wish you all a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!
