You Are Loved


Hi everyone!  I'm sorry for posting this so late, but I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day.  My family and I had a nice Valentine's Day.  I made this card for our ABC challenge blog and this week is a color challenge using the colors:  real red, pretty in pink, and white or vanilla.  If you have time come on over to our challenge blog and we'd love to have you follow us.  We've been trying really hard at making our challenges a success and we could use some help.

I began making my card by dry embossing the background with the perfect polka dots embossing folder and then I assembled my card using the dsp and the card stock banners.  I used my 1" square punch to notch out the banners.  My sentiment was stamped using real red ink and pretty in pink ink and then using the large oval punch I punched out the center of the red image and I placed the real red image on top of the pretty in pink sentiment layer.  My sentiment has dimensionals under it.

My two heart images were just stamped and cut out by hand and I used glue to adhere them to my card.  Sometimes regular adhesive isn't strong enough to hold layers onto dry embossed card stock so I used tombow multi glue just to be safe and make sure the hearts would hold.

Valentine's Day Flowers

Today I was making some last minute Valentine's Day cards and I wanted to show you one that I made in just a matter of minutes.  Yep, this card took me about a total of 10 minutes to make from start to finish.  I also wanted to show a Valentine's Day card that was created using non-traditional Valentine stamps.

I also made this card for my ABC Challenge blog and this week is a color challenge using the colors:  Real Red, Pretty in Pink, and White or Vanilla.  I decided to go with white.  Below is the color challenge for this week's challenge.  If you have time come play along with us.  The design team members have been working hard at our challenges and we'd love to have you join us.  If anyone could help spread the word about our challenge blog I would really appreciate it :)


I used a current Stampin' Up! stamp set called Stipple Blossoms and this set is a two step stampin set.  I began my stamping by taking the more solid flower images and stamping them using pretty in pink ink.  Then I stamped the more open/filler stamps using real red ink.  Next I just added a few leaves, again using the more solid leaf images and a lighter green ink, certainly celery ink and the open/filler leaf images were stamped using wild wasabi ink. 

The flower stamping was really quick and easy, especially if you are using a clear mount set like I did because you can see where you are stamping a little better than if you were using a wood mount set.  I never thought I'd say that since I'm such a wood mount type of gal, but I'm learning to love my clear mount stamps more and more.

To complete my card, I added my sentiment in the upper right hand corner and I added a small strip of designer series paper towards the bottom of my card.  I then added some real red ribbon along the top of my card and I tied a small piece of twine over the knot of my ribbon.

Whale You Be Mine



Good Morning!  I couldn't wait to get the new whale items from the spring catalog!  I love this stamp set with the matching clearlits die.  I made this card for the current Creative Crew Challenges on Splitcoast stampers.  This challenge was to create a Valentine's Day card.  We'd love to have you play along with us!

My background is embossed with the new cloudy day embossing folder and to make the whales I stamped the polka dot whale and he's cut out using the clearlits die.  The second whale was cut out using the clearlits die and then I ran the whale through my big shot using my fancy fan embossing folder.  I added the eye using my white gel pen and I also tied some white twine around the tail.

The two little fishy are also from the same clearlit die.  The hearts were stamped using the Oh, Whale stamp set and I cut them out and placed them above the whale.  I stamped the hearts again and I cut out a small heart and place it over the 'o' in the Whale y'o'u be mine sentiment.

Doily Heart Valentine



Good morning!  I've been busy making some Valentine's Day cards and this is one of the cards I made for the Creative Crew challenge on Splitcoast stampers.  My card actually fits 2 of the Creative Crew challenges this month, to use a doily and to create a Valentine's Day card. 

I also made this card for the inspiration challenge for our ABC blog challenge this week and that challenge is an inspiration challenge using the theme of candy hearts.  Your inspiration could include fun or mushy sentiment, pastel colors, little hearts or whatever else you think of when you think of Candy Hearts.  I went with the heart theme for my Valentine's Day card.


My background is dry embossed using the perfect polka dots embossing folder.  I have four banners placed towards the left side of my card.  I used my 1" square punch to notch out the V part of the banner.  It's so much easier to notch out the end using the square punch.

To create the red heart I punched out the heart using the full heart punch and real read card stock.  Then I used the same full heart punch and I punched out the heart shape using a doily I had cut out from the Paper Doily Sizzlits.  It's hard to see in my photo so I wanted to point out that I added some glitter on the punched doily heart.

ABC Inspiration Challenge

Good morning!  It's Monday and time for another challenge over at ABC challenges.  This week is our very first inspiration challenge based on the photo below.  I love this photo; it's so pretty with the snow on the trees and the red cardinal.  There are so many possibilities with this inspiration photo so I hope you will take a few minutes and play along with us.  We'd love to visit your blogs!


I decided to create a Valentine's Day card with a touch of red.  My background is dry embossed using the Chevron and Perfect Polka Dots embossing folders.  Then I ran my white card base through my big shot using the Chevron folder and I only partly inserted it as to only emboss the bottom half.  Then I turned my card base around and embossed the top half using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. 

Once my embossing was complete I added two rows of dry embossing in the middle (between both embossed areas) using my simply score board.  I usually add the score lines to help define and separate embossed areas.  Then I added my red ribbon and place my card base onto my card.  In case you're wondering why I sometimes layer a white card base onto a white card, I usually do that because I don't like being able to see the ribbon from the inside and the double embossing is so much easier when you're working with a card front rather than the entire card.

Next, I cut out a scallop envelope using the scallop envelope die and I folded it and taped it together.  I left the top part of the envelope open so that I could stick some hearts partially inside it.  The envelope was placed on my card using dimensionals.

I began cutting out some red and white hearts using Hearts Embosslit and would you believe this is the first time I'm using this embosslit?  Yep, I never used it before, but I really like and I'm glad I ordered it!  Then I just began randomly placing the hearts on my envelope.  I have some layered and I used glue dots and dimensionals to adhere them.  Lastly, I stamped my valentine sentiment.  Here's a close up photo of the envelope with the hearts.



I hope you liked the card I made today!  I'm happy with the way all the hearts turned out.  The embosslit is so quick and easy to use since it embosses and cuts all at the same time.  *Here's a tip*- If you don't have this embosslit you could punch out some hearts and then embossing them using some embossing folders.  It's a little more work, but you'll get the same results.

ABC Challenges- Clean & Simple Cards

I haven't been posting in a few days.  I seem to have lost my mojo and my family and I have been sick.  I'm slowly starting to feel better and I wanted to make a card for this week's ABC blog challenge.  This week we are making Clean & Simple cards and as many of you know CAS cards are my very favorite.  There's still time to play along.


I colored the stamp using my SU markers and then I stamped the image onto my white card stock.  Once that was finished I simply added a few score lines (leaving some room in the middle for my ribbon) and then I added my ribbon.  Super quick and easy!

Splitcoast Creative Crew Challenges

Hi everyone and Happy New Year to you all!  I have some exciting news to share with you.  I have been asked to be a member of the Creative Crew on Splitcoast Stampers.  Of course I was honored and more than happy to accept so for the next few months I will be posting cards that I make for those challenges.  Here is a link to the creative crew challenges.  Once you are on that page simply click on the month you would like to view.  These cards are for my January challenges.

The challenge I made this card for was for us to focus on the new designer series paper found in the spring catalog.  We were to choose our favorite DSP.  Well since I haven't placed my order for the spring catalog I had to improvise.  I decided to create my own dsp and my inspiration came from the new Sunshine & Sprinkles dsp in the spring catalog.  I created the polka dots using my ink pads and a pencil eraser.

My background was dry embossed using the perfect polka dots embossing folder and towards the bottom of my card I added three rows of paper piercing.  My melon mambo layer was scored using my simply score tool and then I folded it at each line and placed it onto my card using tombow glue.

My drink images were stamped and I stamped an extra of the daffodil delight glass and I cut it out and placed a dimensional underneath it to raise it up a bit and then I stamped the same stamp again using melon mambo ink and I cut out the liquid portion of the drink and I placed that on top of my image.

Lastly I added my ribbon, sentiment, button with twine, and some glittler on the drink images.  I hope you like my card; I really like how colorful it turned out.

The challenge for this card was to create an anniversary card since it's Stampin' Up's 25th anniversary.  We were also to use the sketch below.  I kept this card fairly simple and most of my time was spent stamping.  I first stamped the flower stem and then I stamped the flowers and once that was finished I stamped over my entire image panel using the En Francais background stamp and crumb cake ink.  My image panel was placed onto my card using dimensionals.

My background was dry embossed using my big shot and vintage wallpaper embossing folder and to complete my card I added my ribbon and some twine holding my happy anniversary sentiment which I punched out using my word window punch.

This card was made for our SIP challenge.  We were to create a card using just stamps, inks and paper.  I also used ribbon, a button, and twine for my embellishment.  I stamped the heart image and cut them out using my scissors.  Then I stamped the red one again and cut out the bird and butterfly image and I placed it on my gray heart.  The gray heart also has dimensionals under it.  My sentiment layer was notched at the end using my scissors and that's about it for this card.  Hope you like it!

I decided to make two cards for the SIP - stamps ink paper challenge.  On this card I did add some ribbon and twine.  I used the seamless tiers technique or sometimes referred to as triple stamping.  I posted a video awhile ago on how to create a card using this technique so if you'd like to see that video you will find it here.

Once I had my white card stock cut I simply began stamping my flower images.  I stamped randomly using baja blue ink and then in-between I added some stem/leaves using crumb cake ink.   Then I added my ribbon and twine tied onto the sentiment onto my first layer.  Then all I needed to do was to finish assembling my card and that's it, super easy!  My sentiment layer was a rectangle I cut using my paper trimmer.

Hi everyone!  Today I'm posting the card that I made for the monthly challenge of the blog group that I belong to.  This month's challenge was to create a Valentine card using hearts.  Our blog group recently started weekly challenges and this week's challenge was to use polka dots so I decided to combine both challenges and the polka dots I used are on my designer series paper.

I used a current Sale-a-bration stamp set called sprinkled expressions and I just stamped the heart and punched it out using my circle punch.  The black layer behind my heart is actually the blossom flower punch that I punched twice and then I placed them on top of each other so that they looked like a larger scallop circle.

My dry embossed heart layer I made using the new Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders- heart folder found in the current Stampin' Up! mini catalog.  These strip embossing folders are great for embossing a smaller portion for your projects. 

Other than that finishing my card was just a matter of assembling it.  I decided to use a mini clothespin with a small piece of red and white twine tied around it and then I added a ribbon tied with a knot.

Hi everyone!  Today I decided to check out the CAS (or clean & simple) challenge on splitcoast stampers.  The challenge was to find ways to use die cuts and since I just recently received my new framelits (labels collection) from Stampin' Up! I knew I wanted to give them a try.

Everything I used to make my card is current, or will be current I should say, with the exception of the designer series paper that I purchased from the Stampin' Up! clearance rack, so if you are purchasing anything from Stampin' Up! be sure to check out those clearance rack items.

I began by first stamping my image and then cutting it out using my framelits and my big shot.  I cut out a larger pretty in pink layer and then I ran that through my big shot using my finial press embossing folder.  Then I colored my image using my SU markers and layered it using dimensionals.  The stamp I used on my card is from the Outlined Occasions stamp set and it is a new Sale-a-bration set that won't be available until Jan. 24th (so you're getting a sneak peek).
My pink designer series paper layer was punched along the bottom using my label punch.  Simply place your dsp only about 1/4" into the punch and punch away.  Move your punch over along the edge of your paper and punch again while trying to keep them lined up- it's really very easy. 

My red designer series paper was scored every 1/4" using my simply score tool and then I folded the paper back and forth.  I used my paper piercing tool to place mini glue dots where the folds of my dsp meets my card base. 

To adhere my sentiment layer onto my accordion folded dsp I used mini glue dots and placed them where the folds of the paper meet my pretty in pink layer.  Using a paper piercing tool comes in real handy for this because once you touch the glue dots they aren't as sticky.

The top part of my pretty in pink layer was adhered using stacked dimensionals.  I'll see if I can get a photo of this so that you know what I am talking about.  Here's a photo of my stacked dimensionals-  
To complete my card I added a mini clothespin with a small piece of twine tied around it- what a cute way to embellish a card.  Twine seems to be the new 'in' embellishment now.

Hi everyone!  Whew!  What a week I have been having.  I tried to get these posted earlier, but I didn't have a chance until just now.  I wanted to share with you the cards I made for my class this past Saturday. 

I'll post the details below each photo.  Sorry that some of the pictures aren't that great, but I don't have these cards anymore to retake the pictures.  I hope you like my cards and thanks for stopping by!


This card is similar to one I made last week, but I just loved the idea of having the hearts coming out of the envelopes so I decided to tweak that card so that it would be easier for my class and this is what I came up with.

I made the envelopes by taking a square piece of dp and folding in the three corners- I used glue dots to hold the envelope together.

I really like how this card turned out and it was perfect for my class because it wasn't too advanced.  This is such a cute layout too, I like using this layout when I have different dp that coordinates so well.

This was the one card in my class that everyone seemed to like the best!  They complimented that they really liked this color combo for Valentine's Day and I like it too because it's not the traditional red, pink, and white Valentine's colors that we always seem to use.

This card was a little more involved because I added two rows of paper piercing along the bottom portion of my white card stock and I added some dd glitter on the stamped heart that we colored and cut out.

For this card I got the idea to use this background stamp from a card I saw in the splitcoast gallery.  I liked that this card seemed to be more of a masculine card for Valentine's Day and the ladies attending my card class did as well. 

The 'Be My Valentine' sentiment of the main image was stamped twice.  Once using real red ink and again using black ink and then the black portion was cut out and pieced/placed over top of the main image.

Good afternoon!  Well, so far I spent an hour shoveling snow again, but now I'm caught up with my house work and the baby ate her lunch and now she's taking her nap so I figured it was a good time to update for today.

I love all the hearts that I have seen lately and so today I decided to make another Valentine's Day card using the I (Heart) Hearts Stampin Up stamp set. 

I began making my card by first stamping the tree image from SU's Season on Friendship stamp set.  Next, I sponged my background to create the clouds and I did this by taking a scrap punched scallop circle and using that as my template and I sponged my clouds using bashful blue ink.

Then I proceeded to create the hearts.  I only used the small heart stamp from this stamp set, but I stamped it using real red and pretty in pink.  I stamped the small hearts and then I punched them out using my heart to heart punch and I glued them onto my tree image.  Some of my hearts were not stamped and I just punched them from real red and pretty in pink card stock.  I even added some white dots to a few of those hearts using my white gel pen just to give a few of the hearts a different look.

And the last thing I did was to add my ribbon.  I love the way this card turned out, so cute for 'I love you day' and I hope you like it too!  Thanks so much for stopping by. I love sharing my stamping work with everyone and I'd love to have you become a follower.  Have a great evening!

Hi everyone!  I hope you are all having a great day so far.  It just started snowing here (again) and we are supposed to be receiving a few inches of snow, not much but enough to make the roads messy.

As I promised yesterday I made a card using my Stampin Up I (Heart) Hearts stamp set.  I saw a few cards floating around in the splitcoast gallery that had hearts coming out of an envelope and I thought, I can do that and so I decided to give it a try.

It took me a few tries to get my envelope just right and this was the best measuremetn that worked for me.  I made my envelope by first cutting a square 3" x 3" piece of white card stock.  Then I scored three corners and 1 1/8" and the last corner I scored at 1 1/4" (this will be the bottom of your envelope).  Next, all I had to do was to fold up the scored 1 1/4" side (again this is the bottom) and then fold over the two sides which were scored at 1 1/8".  I simply used a glue dot to hold all three sides together.

My next step was to start filling my envelope with lots of hearts.  I used the trio heart stamp from the I (Heart) Hearts stamp set and I stamped the image and then punched out the hearts using my heart to heart punch.  I played around with the arrangement of the hearts until I got it to a point that I was happy with it and then I started gluing them in place.

My real red layer was cut at 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" square and I used my scallop trim corner and border punches to punch all along the border.  To achieve this look you first need to punch the corners and then use your border punch to punch in-between the corners.  It's easier to achieve this if you turn your card stock and punch over to line them up.

The rest of my card was easy.  My pretty in pink was embossed using my square lattice embossing folder and then I decided to add a small strip of lavender lace card stock which I punched using the same border punch.

Hi everyone! As I mentioned the other day I'm currently hosting a card swap in which we were to case and CAS card in the Splitcoast gallery and I decided to create a card for my swap. This is the card that I decided to case.

I really like the way Deb incorporated the punched hearts into the stamped image. Mine didn't turn out as nicely as hers did, but I'm still happy with my results. I stamped the image and then I colored it using my SU markers. Next, I punched a few small hearts using my SU heart to heart punch and then I glued the hearts over the flower image and in the center of the O.

I added my background decorative paper. Next, I layered a piece of white ribbon onto my wider pink ribbon and then I placed that on the background of my card. I sort of liked that my card doesn't have a knot or bow; it makes for easier mailing with less postage.

And finally just along the bottom of my card I've added a few rows of paper piercing using my SU mat pack and paper piercing tool.

We are expecting a snow storm tonight into tomorrow and my son's preschool Valentine's Day party was changed from Wednesday to today. As I was getting his stuff ready for his party I realized that I didn't make a card for his teachers. (For the kids I just purchase the character Valentines, but for the teachers I usually like make a card).

I wasn't quite sure what I was going to make. I just started stamping and then cutting out the heart images and my card sort of just came together. I could probably leave off the embossed background next time, but I'm happy with my results.




I took a picture of my cards with the stamps I used, sometimes I think it helps if you can see the actual stamps that were used.

Happy Friday! I have to make this a quick one today because it's getting late here and I haven't started my house work yet. I don't want hubby to think that all I do is stamp the day away...LOL

I made today's card for the limited supply challenge. As soon as I read today's challenge it reminded me of a previous card that I had made using this stamp set. You can see that card here if you'd like.

The challenge was to create a card for someone you love using the colors: pink, red, white, or black. We could use any of these colors and we also had to include some sort of polka dots on our card.

I wanted to make my husband another Valentine's Day card (I wasn't happy with the one I made before). I know the sentiment around my heart image says *friends*, but I consider my husband to be my very best friend ;)

To make my card all I did was stamp the heart image red and then stamp the heart sentiment around it. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up. Then I layered my images using my SU large and small tag punches. I created my background using my Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder, but I only embossed about 1" of each edges and then I scored a line just above and below each embossed section.

I added a small piece of ribbon to the top of each image and I used a brad to hold it in place. My ribbon is from Offray.

Happy New Year!

I'm so glad that things are getting back to normal for me! The kiddos are back in school today and hubby is back to work. It doesn't take long to get used to the short holiday weeks, does it?

This week's CAS challenge is to make a Valentine's Day card. It seems a bit too early to be thinking about Valentine's Day, but I was walking through Kmart the other day and they were stocking the shelves with Valentine's Day stuff already. They really push the holiday items don't they? I saw Christmas trees in one isle and pink heart candy boxes in the next isle. My husband says that we should celebrate each holiday a day late because everything is so much cheaper the day after.

Since I haven't been stamping for a few weeks I decided to make two cards today. I guess I cheated a bit on my first card since the only stamping I did was with my sentiment. The heart pattern paper was from the dollar spot at Target. I just cut it and layered it along with the pink pattern paper. I've added a cut out heart just below my bow and two score lines just below the pp paper. My ribbon is from Offray.

I made my next card using a stamp that's never seen ink before. (That would be a good crafting resolution- to use some of my unloved stamps) I wanted to make a Valentine's Day card for my husband so I tried to keep is sort of masculine and I didn't want to use any ribbon (and that's hard for me because I'm a ribbon gal!)

I embossed the lower portion using my Heart Blocks Cuttlebug embossing folder. Then I added a strip of Real Red card stock with scalloped punched edging and some faux stitching along the top.
Next, I stamped my image using Real Red ink, I layered it on black card stock and then I assembled my card, nice and easy!

Today I spent my morning grooming my dog. I try to save some money where ever I can and grooming my dog is one thing that I can do myself.

I have a cocker spaniel that is almost 14 years old and she's a lot of work. I keep telling my husband this is our last dog. It's hard to plan family day trips and (maybe one day) a vacation when you have a dog.

She's a good dog and she is much calmer now that she is getting older. She's great with the kids, but no one really plays with her and I'm the one who ends up with all of the doggie chores. My daughter and my son each have a fish and that's about the extent of our pets from now on...LOL



My card for today is for Tuesday's splitcoast color challenge. I rarely participate in the color challenges, I'm not quite sure why, I guess because I feel as though I'm not very good at them, but after seeing what today's colors were I decided to give it a try.

The colors for today's challenge are: So Saffron, Mellow Moss, and Rose Red (Melon Mambo was the in color choice, but I do not use any in colors), and neutrals of choice.

I found this stamped image in my box of images. I thought it was a SU image, but I don't know for sure. My card was pretty easy to make. All I did was color my image using my SU markers, assemble my card, and then I added two rows of paper piercing along the right side.

I wasn't quite sure what type of sentiment I wanted to use, but I got to thinking that this might make a nice Valentine's Day card. (Maybe from my husband to me..;) So honey if you are reading this, you can take this card. I guess it could also be an anniversary or maybe an informal wedding card.
