You Are Loved

Hi everyone!  I'm sorry for posting this so late, but I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day.  My family and I had a nice Valentine's Day.  I made this card for our ABC challenge blog and this week is a color challenge using the colors:  real red, pretty in pink, and white or vanilla.  If you have time come on over to our challenge blog and we'd love to have you follow us.  We've been trying really hard at making our challenges a success and we could use some help.

I began making my card by dry embossing the background with the perfect polka dots embossing folder and then I assembled my card using the dsp and the card stock banners.  I used my 1" square punch to notch out the banners.  My sentiment was stamped using real red ink and pretty in pink ink and then using the large oval punch I punched out the center of the red image and I placed the real red image on top of the pretty in pink sentiment layer.  My sentiment has dimensionals under it.

My two heart images were just stamped and cut out by hand and I used glue to adhere them to my card.  Sometimes regular adhesive isn't strong enough to hold layers onto dry embossed card stock so I used tombow multi glue just to be safe and make sure the hearts would hold.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'd like to take a moment to say thank you to my new followers.  I'm almost near my goal of 300 followers, yippee!  Have a great rest of the evening and I'll be back tomorrow!

Valentine's Day Flowers

Today I was making some last minute Valentine's Day cards and I wanted to show you one that I made in just a matter of minutes.  Yep, this card took me about a total of 10 minutes to make from start to finish.  I also wanted to show a Valentine's Day card that was created using non-traditional Valentine stamps.

I also made this card for my ABC Challenge blog and this week is a color challenge using the colors:  Real Red, Pretty in Pink, and White or Vanilla.  I decided to go with white.  Below is the color challenge for this week's challenge.  If you have time come play along with us.  The design team members have been working hard at our challenges and we'd love to have you join us.  If anyone could help spread the word about our challenge blog I would really appreciate it :)

I used a current Stampin' Up! stamp set called Stipple Blossoms and this set is a two step stampin set.  I began my stamping by taking the more solid flower images and stamping them using pretty in pink ink.  Then I stamped the more open/filler stamps using real red ink.  Next I just added a few leaves, again using the more solid leaf images and a lighter green ink, certainly celery ink and the open/filler leaf images were stamped using wild wasabi ink.

The flower stamping was really quick and easy, especially if you are using a clear mount set like I did because you can see where you are stamping a little better than if you were using a wood mount set.  I never thought I'd say that since I'm such a wood mount type of gal, but I'm learning to love my clear mount stamps more and more.

To complete my card, I added my sentiment in the upper right hand corner and I added a small strip of designer series paper towards the bottom of my card.  I then added some real red ribbon along the top of my card and I tied a small piece of twine over the knot of my ribbon.

I hope you liked my Valentine card.  I have another Valentine card I made and I'll post that one tomorrow so be sure to stop on by!  Have a great rest of the day!

Pinwheel Trio

Well, it's starting to snow here already and I certainly hope we aren't going to get as much snow as they are calling for.  I'm just about finished with winter and sooooo ready for spring!

This is the last of the cards I made for this month's Splitcoast Creative Crew challenges.  I made this card for the color challenge to use the colors:  Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, & Sahara Sand.  Come join us and play along with the Creative Crew Challenges!

I used the same designer series paper (just different colors) for each of the pinwheels. The pinwheels were so easy to make using the new pinwheel sizzlits die.  I ran the die through my big shot and removed the paper and folded each corner towards the center and I used a brad to hold it all together.  The die even cuts the little holes for you so there's no hole punch needed.

Just below the ribbon I added two rows of dry embossing using my simply score tool and below that I added the row of v's using the new simply scored borders scoring plate.

My sentiment is from the new Wishes Your Way stamp set from the new spring catalog and the sentiments are a perfect match for this pinwheel die.

I hope you have a great weekend and for those of you, who are in the path of this snow storm here in the North East, stay safe!  Thanks for stopping by!

Secret Garden Flowers

Good morning!  I love this new Secret Garden stamp set and coordinating framelits from the Spring Catalog!  I made this card using the color challenge from the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew challenge.  The colors we were to use were:  Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, & Sahara Sand.  Come join us and play along with the Creative Crew Challenges

I stamped the flowers and cut them out using the coordinating framelits.  Some of the flower centers were made my stamping the flowers again and punching out the centers using a punch from the itty bitty shapes punch pack and then I placed the centers on top of the flowers.

My honeycomb oval background was made by first cutting out an oval shape and I used the oval collection framelits for that and then I dry embossed the oval using the honeycomb embossing folder.  Remember, cut first and emboss second!

Then I placed my background onto my card and I began arranging my flowers.  Some of the flowers were placed onto my card using glue dots and some have dimensionals underneath them.  I even have some dimensionals stacked to raise up some of the flowers even more.

Once my flowers were arranged on my card I added my sentiment.  My sentiment is from the current SAB set, Bloomin' Marvelous.  It's stamped and layered using oval punches and I have dimensionals under my oval sentiment.  Then I decided it would be neat to place a small pearl at each of the hexagon corners as well as inside the center of the hexagons.  This is a great way to use up those really tiny pearls.  I did this step last so that I wouldn't end up wasting pearls and placing them where you wouldn't see them.

I want to give a special thank you to all of my new followers, you are the reason I keep blogging!  I love sharing my cards with you!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Whale You Be Mine

Good Morning!  I couldn't wait to get the new whale items from the spring catalog!  I love this stamp set with the matching clearlits die.  I made this card for the current Creative Crew Challenges on Splitcoast stampers.  This challenge was to create a Valentine's Day card.  We'd love to have you play along with us!

My background is embossed with the new cloudy day embossing folder and to make the whales I stamped the polka dot whale and he's cut out using the clearlits die.  The second whale was cut out using the clearlits die and then I ran the whale through my big shot using my fancy fan embossing folder.  I added the eye using my white gel pen and I also tied some white twine around the tail.

The two little fishy are also from the same clearlit die.  The hearts were stamped using the Oh, Whale stamp set and I cut them out and placed them above the whale.  I stamped the hearts again and I cut out a small heart and place it over the 'o' in the Whale y'o'u be mine sentiment.

I hope you like my whale valentine card!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Doily Heart Valentine

Good morning!  I've been busy making some Valentine's Day cards and this is one of the cards I made for the Creative Crew challenge on Splitcoast stampers.  My card actually fits 2 of the Creative Crew challenges this month, to use a doily and to create a Valentine's Day card.

I also made this card for the inspiration challenge for our ABC blog challenge this week and that challenge is an inspiration challenge using the theme of candy hearts.  Your inspiration could include fun or mushy sentiment, pastel colors, little hearts or whatever else you think of when you think of Candy Hearts.  I went with the heart theme for my Valentine's Day card.

My background is dry embossed using the perfect polka dots embossing folder.  I have four banners placed towards the left side of my card.  I used my 1" square punch to notch out the V part of the banner.  It's so much easier to notch out the end using the square punch.

To create the red heart I punched out the heart using the full heart punch and real read card stock.  Then I used the same full heart punch and I punched out the heart shape using a doily I had cut out from the Paper Doily Sizzlits.  It's hard to see in my photo so I wanted to point out that I added some glitter on the punched doily heart.

I hope you like my Valentine card and we'd love to have you play along with the Creative Crew at Splitcoast Stampers and over at the ABC Challenge blog!  Have a great day!
