Crafty Gal's Monthly Blog Challenge

Hi everyone!  Once a month the blog group I belong to has a challenge and this month's challenge was a tricky one for me.  The challenge was  "Animal Birthdays" and we were to make cards using an animal  character and four shapes of any sort somewhere on the card plus colors red and blue.

My teenage daughter actually came up with this idea of making Cookie Monster and Elmo so they are my animal characters.  The shapes I used can be found within the punch art (circles, half circles, scallop circles, as well as my rectangle sentiment panel).

These are the the punches I used to make Cookie Monster-
Scallop Circle- for the face
1" circle for the mouth (cut circle in half)
3/8" circle punch for the whites of the eyes (circle punch from Itty Bitty Punch Pack)
1/4" circle puch for the black part of the eyes
1/2" circle punch for the cookie and small scallop circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for the bite out of the cookie

These are the punches I used to make Elmo-
Scallop Circle- for the face
1" circle punch for the mouth (cut circle in half)
3/8" circle punch for the whites of the eyes (circle punch from Itty Bitty Punch Pack)
1/4" circle punch for the black part of the eyes
1/2" circle punch for the nose

I used my scallop border punch for the bottom border of the pacific point card stock and I ended up using my white gel pen for the white dots on my real red card stock.  Well, that's about it for my card.  I hope you like it and if you would like to see the other cards from this challenge they can be found here:

So cute. I thought about making a punched shape, but wasn't creative enough for it. I'm ONE card behind you in the 100 day challenge. That gives me incentive to keep motoring along with you!

OH Patty... I love Elmo and cookie monster!!!. I found this punch characters long time ago on SCS and it was too late to make it for my sons... I think they are adorable... maybe I can use them for a scrapbook page, I'm still so behind with their albums that in some pages will work. Awesome card!!!
