Twisted Tuesday ~ Back to the Basics

Good Morning!  First, I have to say how fun this card was to make!  This is for today's Twisted Tuesday Challenge and the challenge this week is - Back to the Basics!  We were not allowed to use any tools, no big shot, no embossing, no punches, etc.  Yikes!  I remembered when I first started stamping and I didn't have a big shot or any dies, heck...I didn't even know what an embossing folder was!  I had so much fun making this card, I love making a card that has lots of stamping!

I used an older retired SU stamp set called Definitely Decorative Daisy.  This set is a 2 step stampin' set consisting of smaller and larger daisy images, leaves, centers, etc.  The stamps in this set are outline images as well as the solid (fill in) images.  I took a piece of white card stock and I began stamping the flower outlines using more mustard ink, then the leaf outline image using old olive ink.  Next, I stamped using the solid flowers using so saffron ink and then I used certainly celery ink to stamp in the solid leaf image.

Then I stamped all the flower centers using bravo burgundy ink.  When all my stamping was complete I took the small dotted stamp from the SU set itty bitty backgrounds and using more mustard ink I randomly stamped the small dots all over my entire stamped image area.  I wanted to tone down the white of my card stock and sort of fill in any empty (unstamped) areas I had.  You can also achieve this using a spritzer tool.  I love the look this gives!

Lastly, I added some glitter onto the flowers using my 2 way glue pen and some dd glitter and then I added my ribbon and stamped my sentiment.

Tip- keep in mind when you are stamping like this you want to stamp your images close together. It may look busy while you are doing your stamping, but once you cut your card stock it will no longer appear busy.

My finished layer sizes are:
Bravo Burgundy layer is- 3 1/4" x 5 1/8"
Flower Panels are- 1 5/8" x 3 1/8"

I hope you like the card I made for today's Twisted Tuesday challenge!  I hope you will play along!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
