Twisted Tuesday ~ Anything Goes

Good Morning!  Here's my card for today's Twisted Tuesday Challenge which is a free for all challenge so I hope you'll play along with us this week and be sure to stop by and check out the other DT member's cards!  I also made these cards for Monday's technique lover challenge on splitcoast stampers.

I wanted to try this technique that I've been seeing lately.  It's called seamless tiers or some people are calling it triple stamping. Basically all you are doing is taking three sheets of white card stock and placing them on top of each other and then begin your stamping.  You will want to pick a stamp that is big enough to cover at least 2 of the three layers.  I'm going to make a video showing this technique so that you can better understand how to do this.  I'll post the video below.

Below is a close up photo of my card.  I wanted to try and show you the glitter on my card; it's really sparkly in person.  I also wanted to list the measurements of the wisteria wonder (purple) and the black layers on my cards. There is 1/8" difference in each layer.

My finished card size is- 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" the next white layer is 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
The next layer (black/purple card stock) is: 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" and the white card stock is: 4 3/8" x 3 1/8"
My smallest layer (black/purple card stock) is- 3 1/2" x 2 1/4" and the white card stock is 3 3/8" x 2 1/8"

And here's my video. I made another card using this same technique. I hope you like it. After having so much positive feedback from my first video (thank you so much) I think I'm going to try and post one video a week :) Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to pass along the link to my blog so that others can see my video too.

This is the card I made in my video.  I decided to add a small tag using my jewelry punch and tiny tags stamp set.  I also ended up adding some glitter using my 2 way glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter.

Embossed Snowflakes

Good evening!  I'm sorry for posting so late tonight.  I tried all day to get some stamping time, but my kids just weren't cooperating with me today.  I saw the sketch on the clean and simple stamping blog and I wanted to play along.  Below is a photo of the sketch.

I decided to use shimmery card stock for my card and it turned out wonderfully.  I ran my card stock base through my big shot using the northern flurry embossing folder.  Then I stamped my sentiment in the lower left corner and I decided to add a few pearls and that's about it!  Quick and easy!  That's about it for tonight, see you tomorrow!

Flower Inspired Note Cards

Happy Sunday!  Lately I've been seeing so many pretty flowers and I thought what wonderful inspiration for using my Inspired By Nature stamp set.  Funny where we get our inspiration from, right?  I decided to make some note cards that were quick, easy, and perfect for mailing and so this is what I came up with.  My 7 year old son said he really liked my cards and I hope you like them too!

I simply colored my stamp using my markers and then stamped it onto my card stock.  I also stamped some grass and after I inked up my stamp I stamped it off onto a piece of scrap paper first and then I stamped it onto my card stock- this gives the appearance of a lighter green for some lighter colored grass.

I made this card the same way by coloring my stamp using my markers and then I stamped some grass.

I hope you liked my cards today! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

52 Christmas Card Challenge ~ Using Brads

Good Morning!  This is my card for today's 52 (Christmas Card) Throwdown blog challenge.  This week's challenge is an embellishment challenge using brads.

The small poinsettia stamp I used is from an retired Stampin' Up! stamp set called Perfect Presentation.  There is a small poinsettia stamp in that set with some wording all around the flower.  When I first got this stamp set I cut the wording apart from the poinsettia and I'm so glad I did because now I can quickly stamp this flower image and if I ever want to add the words around the image I can since I mounted the words on another wood block.

So basically to create my card I stamped nine of the flower images and using a hole punch I placed a brad in the center of each flower.  Then I placed the punched out flowers onto my card stock using dimensionals.

My background is embossed using the petals a plenty embossing folder.  I used this embossing folder because I thought it was a perfect match to my stamped flowers.

Be sure to stop over at 52 (Christmas Card) Throwdown  and check out the other DT member's cards!  I hope you have a wonderful day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Splitcoast Featured Stamper Card

This is the card I made for the featured stamper challenge on splitcoast stampers.  The featured stamper this week is SophieLaFontaine and this is her card that I decided to case.  Congratulations to you Sophie!  I kept the same layout, but I used a different stamp set, different colors, and I added a sentiment.

All I really did to make this card was to stamp my flower images, color them using my SU markers and then stamp my sentiment.  My stamped panel is layered onto black card stock and that's it!  Using a stamp-a-ma-jig really helps to align the images where you want them.  I ended up stamped the same flower image 3 times.

I also made this card for this week's clean & simple sketch challenge on splitcoast stampers.  The sketch this week was based on this card made by Darsie.  I used her same sketch, but I turned my card upright.

This card would make a great set of note cards and I would have made more, but I'm running low on my white card stock.  I hope you liked my card!

Twisted Tuesday ~ Tree & Knots

Good Morning!  Today's Twisted Tuesday Challenge is to use a tree or group of trees on your creation and the twist is to tie some knots on your creation. So, tie up your ribbons, twines, whatever just as long as we can see some knots!

It's easier to first cut out the top note layer and then begin your stamping.  I decided to use one of my favorite stamp sets Lovely As A Tree.  I stamped two tree images using soft suede ink, but I stamped off onto a piece of scrap paper and then I stamped onto my top note layer.  For the darker old olive tree I stamped it onto my ink pad and then using my soft suede marker I colored the tree trunk.

My background is embossed using the vintage wallpaper embossing folder.  The designer series paper on my background was ran through my paper crimper.  My top note layer is placed onto my card using dimensionals.

I decided to add three small pieces of ribbon tied with knots in the upper right hand corner and my sentiment is from a retired SU stamp set called Whimsical words.

I almost forgot to mention that I cut out a top note layer using old olive card stock and I ended up cutting that in half and I placed it just a tad bigger than my white top note layer.  I wanted it to look like there was an old olive layer behind my main image panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

52 Christmas Card Throwdown Theme ~ Wreaths!

Good Morning!  Here's my card for this week's 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog challenge.  This week is a theme challenge and the theme is wreaths.  I had a few ideas in mind for my card this week and I ended up making a ribbon wreath card.  I figured it might be easier to post a video on how I made my wreath so if you have a moment check out my very first video posted below.

I ended up making three of these wreath cards and they are all basically the same, but the colors are different.  I embossed my background using the petals a plenty embossing folder and my sentiment is from a retired SU stamp set called Christmas Greetings.  Below is a close up photo of my wreath.

And here is my very first video.  I was a bit nervous so I hope you like it!  In my video I showed how to make the wreath (which I learned from this video), and I showed you how I embossed my background, and how to use a stamp-a-ma-jig.

A Little Birdie Told Me~ July 19, 2012

I made this card for a friend of mine who recently told me that her and her husband are expecting their first child.  I'm so excited for them both!  I hope she doesn't see this post before she receives her card in the mail!

I wish I had the Stampin' Up! stamp set Swell News, but since I don't I looked to see what else I had that might work and I think I may have pulled it off with this birdie stamp set.

I stamped the bird onto a scrap piece of designer series paper and my card sort of went from there.  Since she doesn't know if the baby is a boy or girl just yet I wanted to use blue and pink on my card.  My birdie image layer was cut using the labels framelits and my celery designer paper behind my image was scored using my simply score tool and then folded.  I used tombow multi glue to adhere my certainly celery layer onto my white background layer.

I also added the small stamped flower and I placed it in the birdie's beak.  The flower was stamped, colored, and cut out.  I wanted to mention that I have dimensionals placed underneath my white image layer.  There's also a small dimensional under the small flower.

My background is embossed using my perfect polka dots embossing folder and I left part of the bottom unembossed so that I would have a spot to stamp the rest of my sentiment.  For my ribbon treatment I added a button with some twine tied through it and using a glue gun I glued it onto my ribbon knot.

Well, that's my second card for today, thanks for taking the time to stop by.  I'm doing pretty well with my 100 cards in 100 days challenge- I'm almost half way there!

Circle Circus Christmas ~ July 19, 2012

This is the card I made for this week's splitcoast color challenge which was to use very vanilla, gumball green, and cherry cobbler.  I also made this card for the Clear is out Challenge blog and that challenge was a theme of Christmas and a stash challenge to use red, green, or even both.

When I bought my Circle Circus stamp I knew it would make great one sheet wonder cards and I thought perhaps it would make cute Christmas cards too, what do you think?

I randomly stamped the circle images using gumball green and cherry cobbler ink and then I layered it onto my cherry cobbler card stock.  I decided to add a small strip of gumball green card stock behind my very vanilla ribbon.  For a final embellishment, I added a few rhinestone gems in the center of the circle images.

Thoughts of You ~ Sketch Challenge July 18, 2012

Hi everyone!  I hope you had a great day today and stayed cool!  It sure was a hot one here today, but my kiddos don't seem to mind it.  We did get some much needed rain though with a few storms that rolled through here.  Thankfully the storms near me didn't leave any damage.

I found a blog challenge the other day and I wanted to play along.  The blog is called Come and Get It Challenges and this week the challenge is a sketch challenge.  I have the sketch posted in my photo below.

It took me a little bit to figure out how I wanted to pull this card together.  I ended up using a retired SU triple layer punch for my island indigo layer.  I placed a pink button in the center with a piece of white ribbon knotted through it.

Instead of the three squares on the sketch below I decided to use my curly label punch and I had a few scraps of the twitterpated designer series paper and my card sort of went together from there.

It may be hard to see in my photo so I wanted to mention that after I punched my pink card stock with my scallop border punch I added some paper piercing along the scallops.  I didn't use a template for this; I simply pierced my paper free handed.  My sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Loving Thoughts.

Well, that's about it for tonight.  Be sure to check back tomorrow because I have 2 cards made that I will be posting!  Have a wonderful evening!

Glittery Chocolate Lovers~ Twisted Tuesday Challenge

Good morning! This is my card for this week's Twisted Tuesday challenge.  This week's challenge is to create creation with chocolate in mind. This could be chocolate card stock, patterned paper with chocolate on it, an image with chocolate in it, etc.  The Twist this week it so use glitter on our creation.

I used a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set called 'Eat Chocolate'.  I stamped the image onto my card stock and then I stamped it again on a scrap piece of paper and then I cut out just the 'to do list' part of the image and using dimensionals I placed it on top of my original stamped image.  I did this to make part of my main image pop up.  The candy bar is part of another image in the same stamp set and I simply stamped that and cut it out and placed that onto my image panel.

My white card stock layer was first cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" and then using my scallop trim corner punch I first punched the corners and then using the scallop trim border punch I punched along the edges.  This technique only works for certain sizes so I wanted to make note of the size my card stock was.

The glitter on my card is a little hard to see so I tried getting a better photo so that you could see it.  I used my 2 way glue pen and some dazzling diamonds glitter and I went all along my scallop border edges and all along the edges of my 'to do list'.  Below are two close up photos.
.

So what do you think?  I hope you liked my card!  Have a great rest of the day and thanks for stopping by!  If you have a moment and you'd like to see the other DT member's cards here are their blogs:

Ways to use Twine ~ July 16, 2012

Good Morning!  Today's clean & simple challenge on splitcoast stampers is to find ways to use twine.  I knew as soon as I saw the challenge that I wanted to pull out my kite stamp set and use the twine for the kite strings.

I stamped and cut out the kites and then I glued the twine on the back of the kites and then I placed them on my card using dimensionals.  I added three small pieces of twine on each strand which I thought would mimic bows that you sometimes see on kite strings.

The lucky limeade card stock along the bottom of my card was dry embossed using my big shot and my stripes embossing folder.  I wanted to keep the rest of my card simple so I decided to add my sentiment on a punched out scallop oval.

So what do you think?  I hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Fox & Friends Baby Card ~ July 15, 2012

After making the time consuming card I made yesterday I opted to make a simpler card today so I looked on the Clean & Simple stamping blog and I found this cute sketch.

I decided to make a baby card and stamp three animals in a row.  I used a retired stamp set called 'Fox & Friends'.  I think this stamp set always makes such cute baby cards.

I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to help me line up my images neatly and just on both sides of my stamped image area I added two rows of dry embossed lines using my simply score tool.  For my embellishment I decided to put a piece of twine tied in a bow on the giraffe's neck.

Once my card was finished I still felt that it needed a little something else and so I used my spritzer tool and chocolate chip marker to spritz a little bit of color along both left and right edges of my card.

I don't make one layer cards very often so I hope you like the way my card turned out.  This card would make cute baby thank you cards (simply change the sentiment) or even baby announcements and since it's flatter it would be perfect for sending through the mail.

Well, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!  Have a wonderful day!

Up on the Housetop July 14, 2012

Good evening!  Mynnette told me about the "Just Us Girls" Challenge blog and as soon as I saw the current challenge I had to play along.  The current Just Us Girls challenge is a technique challenge and the technique is called faux window.

I also made this card for:  Christmas Stampin' All Year Long blog challenge which was to use any stamp that has not been inked yet and this is the first time I'm using this Christmas image, the Little Red Wagon challenge which is Christmas in July, and the CCEE Stampers challenge which is to use the reverse masking technique.

This is one of the more complicated cards that I've ever made and by the time I was finished hubby was calling me 'inky fingers'.  I used an older retired Stampin' Up! stamp set called 'Up on the Housetop'.  I began by stamping my image using black stazon and then I cut out a 2" circle for the mask for the moon part of my image.  Once I had my mask in place I began sponging my background.  I sponged all around my main image keeping the ink darker towards the top and lighter near the bottom.  To ink my background I used pacific point and bashful blue ink and then I used Summer Starfruit for the yellowish glowing area just above the village part of my image.

Then I must have spent about 20 minutes coloring my image.  I probably had about 20 different color markers lying on my crafting table!  There is such amazing detail in this image- everything from the windows in the houses in the village to the antlers on the reindeer.  Once I was finished coloring my image I decided to add some dazzling diamonds glitter along the rooftops.

The trickiest part of my card was trying to figure out how to equally cut up my image and I had to be careful that my measurements were correct since I spent so much time coloring my image and I didn't want to make a mistake.  This is a larger image so I decided to cut my image into 9 squares rather that the traditional 4 window squares.  My finished card size measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Below is a close up photo of the image on my card.  To finish off my window technique I decided to add a valance using a scrap piece of designer series paper and I punched it using my scallop border punch.  I also decided to add some real red ribbon with my Merry Christmas sentiment tied onto it.  My sentiment was punched using my word window punch and then I tied it onto my red ribbon using a small piece of white twine.  My entire window valance was placed onto my card using dimensionals.

I hope you like the Christmas card that I made!  I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I was happy to have finally inked up this stamp!  Have a great rest of the night!

July 14, 2012 ~ 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown- color challenge

Good morning!  I'm so glad you stopped by!  This is the card I made for this week's 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog challenge.  This week's challenge is a fun one!  It's a color challenge and the colors are:  white, black, and a splash of blue.

I wanted to use an image that would be pretty enough to not color in entirely and I think this image is perfect.  I only used my bashful blue marker and I colored in the bird and I lightly colored in a bit here and there in the snowy areas.  After I was finished adding a bit of blue I decided to add some dazzling diamonds glitter all over the snowy area.  You can see how my glittery snow turned out in my photo below.

My main image panel is layered onto black card stock and then onto bashful blue card stock (I have dimensionals underneath my bashful blue layer.  The bottom of my bashful blue card stock was punched using my scallop border punch and I added my ribbon just above my punched border.  My sentient was stamped and punched out using my large oval and scallop oval punches.  My sentiment is also raised up using dimensionals.

I wanted to take a minute to explain how I embossed my background.  The northern flurry embossing folder has the embossing area only on the bottom left side, but I wanted the embossing to be over my entire background and in order to achieve this I began by taking my card stock and running it through my big shot like I normally would.  Then I removed my card stock, turned it around and placed my non embossed portion back inside my embossing folder and I ran it through my big shot machine again.

If you try this you will want to sort of stop once you reach the end of the embossing folder (you should be able to feel this as your are turning the handle).  This should help to not get a crease line on your card stock from the end of the embossing folder and make sure that when you are turning your card stock around to emboss the other end that you do not flip it over or you will end up with one side being embossed and the other side of your card stock will be debossed.

I hope you liked the card I made for today's challenge.  If you have time be sure to check out the other design team member's cards.  Thanks for stopping by!

July 13, 2012 Wacky Wishes Christmas

Good evening!  I hope your Friday the 13th went well.  Mine was pretty okay and after getting my kids to bed I decided to make another card using the 52 Christmas card Throwdown sketch.  I loved this week's sketch; it's perfect for making quick cards.

My designer series paper strips measure 1 1/2" x 3 1/2".  My Main image panel measures 3"x 2" and the very vanilla layer is 1/4" smaller.  I used a small rhinestone gem and placed it just above the letter i in the word Christmas.  My main image panel is raised up using dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be sure to check back tomorrow morning to see the Christmas card I made for the 53 Christmas card Throwdown challenge!  Have a great evening!

July 12, 2012 Birds for you

I made this card for the Paper Player's blog challenge- this week it is a color challenge and the colors we were to use were:  Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, and Daffodil Delight.  I also made this card for the Use it Tuesday challenge which was to use embossing on our cards- my hoarded item is my ribbon, I'm always worried to use up all my ribbon and then I end up saving it- I have to keep telling myself that I can always order more ribbon.

I started making my card by first making the birds.  I used my 2 step bird punch and my card stock and I glued them together.  I punched 2 of the birds, 2 wings, and 4 of the leaf branches.  I used my SU black marker for the eyes.

The white background the birds are on is dry embossed using my big shot and vintage wallpaper embossing folder.  My main image panel is popped up using dimensionals.

To complete the rest of my card I simply added a piece of designer series paper to match the bird's wings, then I added my ribbon, and lastly I decided to add my sentiment on a scrap piece of paper that was punched using the decorative label punch.

Well, I have to run and get supper started.  I hope you liked my card today, have a great evening!

July 11, 2012

I ended up making this card for a few challenges. The color challenge this week on splitcoast stampers is:  crumb cake, raspberry ripple, and pink pirouette.  I also made this card for the featured stamper challenge last week and Loll was the featured stamper.  Congrats to you Loll!  This is her card that I decided to case.  I kept the same basic layout, but I changed the colors and I used a different stamp set.

I first cut my white card stock to measure 3"x 4 1/2" and then I began stamping my images randomly all over.  I ended up making the butterflies raspberry ripple and I kept my flowers stamped in crumb cake and pink pirouette.  Once my stamping was finished (which only took a few minutes) I cut my card stock into three equal sections.  Each section measures 3" x 1 1/2".  My crumb cake card stock layer measures 3 1/4" x 4 7/8".  (I wanted to post the measurements for you because sometimes the hardest part of making these cards is the measuring).

For my embellishment I decided to keep it simple and just add a basic pearl in the center of each butterfly and then I just stamped my sentiment and that's it!  A quick, easy, birthday card and it only took about 10 minutes to make.  I hope you like it!

~My Family~

Good evening!  I rarely post pictures of my kids, but a mom has to brag once and awhile, right?  Anyway, as I sometimes mention I have three kids and I thought I would set aside a post to show them off.

This photo is of my two younger kids, Aubrey and Aaron.  How sweet they are in this photo.  I only hope that they are this close when they grow up.

This is a photo of my older daughter, Danielle.  Yesterday was her first day of college....ugh!  I'm getting old!  She's still in high school, but she's enrolled in a junior scholar program and she's able to start earning her college credits now.  Keep up the good work, Danielle!

Here is a photo of Aaron when he received his baseball trophy.  This was the first year he played baseball and he really enjoyed it.  He will begin playing soccer in August.

Here is a photo of Aubrey when I took her to the park last month.  It was still pretty cool out that day.

And here is the reason that I'm driving myself crazy lately!  This is my hubby's car or should I say it was hubby's car.  He was in an accident almost 2 weeks ago and his car still isn't finished being repaired.  The auto body shop ordered parts to fix his car and then once they began fixing it they found that it had more damage that they thought.  We won't be getting our car back until late next week.  I've been busy taking everyone where they need to go with my car and it's been a lot of running around!

I hope you didn't mind me sharing a few photos of my family!  I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  Have a great rest of the evening! Pin It

July 10, 2012~ Twisted Tuesday Challenge!

Good Morning!  Here's my card for this week's Twisted Tuesday challenge.  This week we were to create a card using 2 things from this list-  The color Yellow, Charms, Twine, Rub-ons, Stickers, Die Cuts, Lace, and Stickles.  The twist - Make your creation for any Holiday.

I ended up using 3 things from the list- twine, the color yellow, and die cuts.  The witch, broom, cat, clouds, and pumpkin images were all stamped, colored, and cut out using my paper snips.  My moon was punched out and sponged along the edges.

My fence was created using my big shot and designer rosette bigz die.  After my fence was cut I sponged all the edges so that it would look more like a fence.

For my sentiment I stamped it and punched it out using my word window punch.  I decided to add a bit of twine on the left side of my sentiment and all I did was to tie several pieces of twine through the same hole.  Lastly I placed the cut out cat to look like he's sitting on top of my Happy Halloween sentiment.

I hope you liked my Twisted Tuesday card this week!  Be sure to check out the other DT member's blogs:

July 9, 2012 CAS theme- Fairytale

I made this card for this week's clean & simple challenge on splitcoast stampers.  This week is a theme challenge and the theme is 'Fairytales'.  I looked through my stamps to see if I could find something that might work for this challenge and I thought this castle image would be perfect.

Because I spent some time coloring the image I wanted to keep the rest of my card simple and so all I really did was a little bit of paper piercing around my image.  I used the new paper piercing pack in the new catalog and I placed the template over my image and I began piercing my card stock.  I stopped piercing once I reached the bottom of the castle image and then I made the row of piercing go straight across, but my ribbon ended up covering that row.

Next, I stamped my sentiment, tied on my ribbon and I layered it onto my white card stock base and that was it!  It took me about 15 minutes to make this card, quick and easy!  Have a great night!

July 7, 2012 ~ 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown Sketch

Good Morning!  This is my first card as a DT member on the 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown challenge blog.  I'm excited to be part of their team and I'm looking forward to working with everyone!  Thanks so much for having me :)

The challenge this week, found here is a sketch challenge and I posted a photo of the sketch below.  This is such a wonderful sketch and the possibilities are endless so I'll hope you join us and play along.

I stamped the ornaments and punched them out using my ornament punch and I placed them on my main, very vanilla card stock panel.  The raspberry ripple ornament is raised up using dimensionals and the entire main panel also has dimensionals under it.

For my embellishments I decided to add a small piece of ribbon just to the right of my stamped ornaments and along the top of my ornaments I added a piece of twine tied in a bow.  I also decided to add three small Rhinestone Jewels on my raspberry ripple ornament.

July 7, 2012

I wanted to play along this this week's Queen for a Day challenge on splitcoast stampers.  The Queen this week is Angela Maine and this is her card that I decided to case.  Once I figured out what card I wanted to make I decided to use the colors found on the Pals Paper Arts color challenge which was to use early espresso, daffodil delight, and cherry cobbler.

I used the larger flower stamp from the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Just Believe.  I colored the image using my markers and I ended up stamping the image twice.  Then like Angel's card I cut the image into three sections.  I added two rows of faux stitching on my early espresso card stock.  Then I added my ribbon and stamped my sentiment.

I hope you liked my card, thanks for stopping by!

July 5, 2012 ~ Splitcoast Color Challenge

I have another card for you today!  I rarely ever participate in the colors challenges on splitcoast stampers and I think it's because I have it set in my mind that I'm really not good at them so today I decided to give it a try.  The colors for this week's challenge were:  White, Crumb Cake, and Calypso Coral.

I used a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set called branch and I stamped the tree using crumb cake and the leaves of the tree are stamped using calypso coral ink, but I ended up stamping off with some of the ink- that gives it different shades of the same color ink.

My background calypso coral card stock was dry embossed using my big shot and square lattice embossing folder.  The right side of my crumb cake card stock was punched using my scallop trim border punch and I added a few white dots using my white get pen.

My sentiment panel was stamped and then I notched out the ends using a 1" square punch.  I added a button with some calypso coral twine tied through the center and this layer was placed onto my card using dimensionals.

This is one of my favorite retired stamp sets!  I hope you liked my card!  See you tomorrow!

July 5, 2012 ~ Crafty Gal's Blog Challenge

Good Morning! The blog group that I belong to has a monthly challenge and this month it was my turn to host and for this month's challenge I asked that we make 'Christmas in July' cards.  And as many of you know clean & simple cards are my very favorite cards so I thought it would be neat to make our Christmas cards clean & simple, so here's my CAS Christmas card for this month's challenge.

I'm submitting my card for this week's challenge over at the Paper Players Blog and their challenge was to create a Christmas card.

I'm also excited to share some exciting news with all of my blogging friends and followers.  I made the design team on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog.  I'm so excited to be working on the DT and I just love Christmas cards!

I used a recently retired stamp set called Tree Trimmings.  I simply stamped the ornaments using raspberry ripple ink and then I stamped the ornament string using gumball green ink.  My sentiment was stamped next, again using raspberry ripple ink.

Then I decided to add my designer series paper with some vanilla ribbon tied around it.  My dsp was punched along the bottom using my scallop border punch and it was placed on my card using dimensionals.  For a finishing touch I added a rhinestone gem at the top of each ornament and just below the stamped bow.  And that's about it for my card, super easy and quick too.  This would be a great card to produce for your holiday cards!

Have a great day and I'll be back later today with another card.  If you would like to see the other cards the ladies in my blog group made I'll post their links below.  Thanks for stopping by!
