Today I have a real quick and easy Christmas card to share with you. My mother-in-law found this stamp set for me at a yard sale this past summer and I thought this image would be really cute for some Christmas cards.

I stamped the image and then I colored it using my SU markers. I wanted to make my card look more Christmasy so I layered my image onto a piece of real red card stock.

I didn't want the rest of my card too look busy, so I decided for my background I would just addd a few score lines using my score-pal and along the very bottom of my card I added two rows of paper piercing. I love the added interest that paper piercing gives to my cards without it being an involved technique; and it's so quick and easy to do.
I hope you all have a great rest of the day; I'm off to put supper on the table. We are having spaghetti and meatballs tonight; one of my favorites. Tomorrow looks like a great crafting day for me because it's supposed to rain all day long and I won't be taking the kids outside to play.

I made this card some time ago and I wasn't sure if I wanted to upload it or not. I'm not that crazy about how it turned out, but it took me so long to make I just couldn't throw it away. I originally made this card for my daughter to send to her cousin who just happens to love frogs.

My cloud background was created using a punched scallop circle and a blue inked sponge. I simple sponged around the scalloped part and then moving the scallop circle I sponged again.

My grassy area was also sponged using old olive ink.  I simply inked up the sponge and randomly sponged all over the lower part of my card base (I didn't use the punched scallop circle for this part).

Just about everything else was stamped, cut out, and then I placed it onto my card. The cutting was the most time consuming part of my card. I stamped the flies directly on my card and then I stamped and cut out another fly. I placed the cut out fly right on top of the one that I had stamped on my card base (except for the wings). I left them unattached to my card base so that I could pick up the wings a bit. Then I placed some DD glitter onto each of the fly's wings.

The lily pad was stamped twice, but I cut off the cattails on one of the images. I used my chocolate chip marker to color in the two cattails.  The logs were just stamped and cut out as well as the frogs. The sentiment reads- time's fun when you're having flies.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be posting a CAS Christmas card tomorrow, have a wonderful day!

I made this thinking of you card for my sister. She loves cats and I thought this image would be perfect for her.

My sister isn't in a good living situation right now and there's really no way that I am able to help her. I think of her often and I hope something will work out for her someday and until then all I can do is to let her know that I care and that I'm thinking about her.

My image was colored using my SU markers and I have to say that this image was a challenge for me. It really took some shading to help cover up the streak marks that you get from the SU markers. Sometimes I'll use my white gel pen for dots to help cover up the streakiness.

I really like the results I got from my decorative scoring and paper piercing dots combination that I have just below my image. First I scored the four score lines and then using my SU mat pack I aligned up the two paper pierced rows.

I decided to use a button with ribbon tied in the center and two certainly celery ribbon tabs in the upper right corner for my embellishments. Buttons aren't something that I usually use, but I like it on this card.

I'm posting early today because I have a ton of house work, so I'd better get busy! Have a great day!

Hi everyone! I haven't been able to post the past few days, but I'm here now!  And today being the first day of fall I thought it would be appropriate to post a fall card.

I stamped my image using my black stazon ink and then I colored it using my SU markers. Sometimes is takes me a little bit of coloring to get my image just the way I want it using my SU markers. I so want to try coloring with copic markers, but for now this is what I have to work with.

My pumpkin pie layer is embossed using my pumpkin harvest embossing folder and my ribbon is from Offray. I didn't have any creamy caramel ribbon so I used a small piece of white ribbon and I colored it using my SU markers.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back tomorrow. I have a card that I made for my sister and I wanted to post it before I sent it to her. Have a great rest of the day!

Here's my card using this week's digi image from designed2delight.  This is a really cute Halloween image and I couldn't wait to print it out and use it.  I also made this card for today's Free For All Splitcoast challenge.  This week's challenge was to create a card using a punny saying.

I colored the image using my SU markers and I wanted to add a few lighter spots so I decided to use my white gel pen and then color over it again using my gray marker.  (I had a cat that looked like this when I was a kid).

My background is embossed using my cuttlebug and cuttlebug Spiderweb embossing folder.

I also decided to try something new and I wanted to use more than one design of my pattern paper.  I ended up using three different pieces and I think I like it.

I found a spider punch at AC Moore last week on clearance and I thought the spider might be a nice touch on this card.

My sentiment is computer generated and my ribbon is from Offray.

I'm so glad you were able to stop by.  Have a great weekend and I'll be back on Monday!

Hi everyone!  Sorry I'm a bit late posting today.  It was a really busy day for me today.  I didn't stop all day!
I wanted to make a card for this week's designed2delight challenge.  I thought this week's digi image was so cute, I'm glad that I was able to play along last week.

I usually make clean & simple cards, but this time I decided to add a bit more to my card than I usually do while still keeping it simple for me.  I printed the image and then colored it using my SU markers.  I added a few white dots on the bear's shirt using my white gel pen.

My certainly celery layer is embossed using my SU square lattice embossing folder.  I was surprised at how much just that little bit of embossing added to my card.

I used my SU mat pack and paper piercing tool to help me align the holes for my brads.  I had a second bear image already printed out so I colored and cut out one extra flower which I placed alongside my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you had a great day!  I'm off to watch The Apprentice with my husband.  All of the kids are in bed so it will be nice to have some quite time.  See you tomorrow!

After posting a few Halloween cards I figured it was time for a Christmas card.  Because it took me a little bit to do all of this coloring I decided to keep the rest of my card simple.  My image was colored using my SU markers and then I layered it onto a piece of real red card stock.  I left my background plain and unembossed, I wanted a more clean look.

My sentiment is from SU's Christmas Greetings stamp set. Last week I went crazy looking for this stamp set because I couldn't find it and I use this sentiment all the time. I ended up finding it behind one of my other stamp sets.

One more thing I wanted to mention....sometimes I receive some questions and I wanted to address why I almost always layer my card base directly onto a card rather than just creating a one layer card.

This card for example could have been a one layer card (OLC), however I really prefer not to be able to see any ribbon (eyelets, brads, etc.) from the inside of my cards and so I always layer my card fronts that have ribbon or any time of embellishments on them.

Well, I have to run. It's another busy night for us tonight. It's meet the teachers night for my older daughter and so I want to have supper ready early tonight. Have a great night and tomorrow I will be back with another card!

Hi everyone! I have another Halloween card that I what to share with you.  I used an older SU stamp set called Best Witches. I simply stamped my image and colored it using my SU markers.

One of these days I'm going to have to take some pictures of my coloring as I go along.  Other than that my card was really easy to make. I used my scallop trim border punch to punch along my green and orange card stock layers.  My dp is from the dollar spot at Target and my ribbon is from Offray.

That's about it for today; I have to keep this short because I have tons of house work to get finished and my laundry is starting to pile up.

Have a great day and be sure to come on back tomorrow because I have a great Christmas card that I'm going to post!

What an exciting day I had today!  First I learned that I won some blog candy from Carrie's Blog Stamps, scraps and Scissors.  How exciting, thank you so much Carrie!  Be sure to stop on by Carrie's blog, she does lovely work and she has one of my favorite blogs!  Her blog can be found here!

Then last night I received a phone call from my local AC Moore store to let me know that I had won a fall flower arrangement.  When I was there yesterday my husband filled out a drawing form for me and this is a picture of the arrangement I won.  (I went to pick it up this morning).  It's a lot prettier in person and I'm excited to have won!

I have another Halloween card that I wanted to post today.  This is a really easy card.  I decided that my pattern paper would be the inspiration for the colors I used.

I used my Batty for You SU stamp set and I picked three images that I felt the colors would work best with my pattern paper.  I used orange for the pumpkin, black for the spider image, and green for the ghost.

I simply stamped my images and then I punched them using my circle punches.  For those of you who aren't aware of this, it is much easier to stamp your images first and then punch them out.  If you use your punches upside-down you will be able to see the image you are trying to punch.

My background is embossed using my cuttlebug and Spiderweb embossing folder.  I love this Halloween folder and I'm thinking it could make some really cute cards.

My pattern paper is from the dollar spot at Target and my ribbon is from Offray.  I was just at my local Target store and I didn't see any more scrapbooking items, I hope they get them back again soon!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great rest of the day.  I'm off to get moving today and get some house work done.

Today I decided to make a card for the happy birthday Cuttlebug challenge.  The challenge was to create a birthday card using at least 2 layers and of course we needed to use our cuttlebugs.

My main cake image was stamped and colored using my SU markers. It's hard to see in my picture, but I did add some dazzling diamonds glitter over the flowers.

The upper portion of my background was embossed using my with gratitude embossing folder and just below my embossed area I added two score lines using my scor-pal.

I decided to go with an organdy ribbon on my card. My ribbon is from Offray.

Just a quick note about the recipe I posted yesterday (acutally I posted a link to the recipe).  Anyway, I wanted to let you all know how my chicken and dumplings turned out. Well, that recipe is just awesome; it was the best chicken and dumplings I ever made. I think my husband ate four bowls and the baby ate every little bit I had on her plate! My only problem with the recipe was that the dumpling dough was a little too wet, but all I needed to do was to add a bit more flour and that fixed it!

I hope you all have a great weekend! We don't have any big plans this weekend and so far the weather is looking pretty yucky. I'll be back again on Monday!

Today I'm sharing a first with you! This is the first time I've ever made a card using only my cuttlebug and no stamps!

I used an embossing folder and die combo called Halloween. It's a Disney set that I picked up at Big Lots a few months ago for just $2!

At first I wasn't quite sure how the die & folder combination works, but I finally figured it out.

I simply chose the color card stock that I wanted to use and I placed it over the part of the die that I wanted to cut. (This was a great opportunity to use of lots of my paper scraps).

After I had everything cut out I ran the pieces through the coordinating embossing folder. I did each piece separately; I just found it to work easier that way.

Once I pieces were cut and embossed I started assembling my card. For the bats, I used going grey card stock, but I colored the raised parts using my black SU marker. The raised parts of my owl were also colored using my lovely lilac marker.

I used the example on the front of the cuttlebug folder package as my inspiration.  My card is a little bit different than from the example, I used a different color for the fence and I added the stars in the sky.  I also didn't add any of the leaves that came with the die.

I'm hoping that the white dots I added in my background look like stars. I didn’t' add a sentiment on the front of my card because I felt it was busy enough and you sort of get that Halloween feel when you look at it, right...LOL

I'd better run, it's a cool day here today and I have chicken and dumplings cooking on the stove and I have to check on it. I'm trying a new recipe today so I'm hoping my family likes it. Just in case anyone wants to see the recipe I'm using you can find it here. It's supposed to be the Cracker Barrel chicken and dumpling recipe. Tomorrow I'll have to let you all know how it turns out!

Hi everyone!  I just came across the delightful inspiration blog yesterday and I wanted to participate in this week's challenge.  I printed the digi image and heat set it using my heat gun.  (Be sure to heat set your image to prevent it from smearing). Next I colored the image using my SU markers.

My image was then cut out using my Cuttlebug and Nesties.  My background is embossed using my hounds tooth embossing folder.

Towards the bottom of my card I added a few rows of paper piercing and just above that I scored two lines using my score-pal.

My sentiment was stamped and then I punched out the center using my 3/4" circle punch.  Then I added a leaf (from the wreath image- I had a second image printed) and I placed it in the middle of my sentiment.

My dp is from SU, I believe it was in a pack called four seasons and my ribbon is from Offray.

Thanks so much for dropping in, I'll be back again tomorrow!  Have a great rest of the day!

Hi there!  It's so quiet here without my son (he's in school right now and the baby is napping).  So it's a great time to update my blog!

Since I'm hosting a CAS (clean & simple) Christmas card swap I thought I would make CAS Christmas card today.  I received this image from one of my online stamping friends, thanks so much Jill!

I simply colored in the image using my SU markers and then I layered it onto my real red card stock.  Next, I added my silk red ribbon and then I stamped my Merry Christmas sentiment on my card.  (I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to help me align it nicely).  My ribbon is from Offray.

This was such a quick card to make; I can easily see myself making a few more of these for my holiday cards!  Thanks again for stopping on by and have a great rest of the day!

September 6, 2010

Hey everyone!  I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend!  The card I am posting today uses one of my favorite SU stamp sets, this set is perfect for so many occasions and it's so easy to use.

I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to help me align my images, but other than that I simply stamped away.

I stamped my flower images first and then I stamped the leaf stems using certainly celery ink and next I went on to stamp the leaves again using certainly celery ink.  It looks like I used different green inks for my leaves, but I didn't.

My blue card stock was punched using my scalloped border punch and I sort of staggered the layers of card stock just a bit.

My ribbon is from Offray.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the day!

Hey everyone!  I'm back!!!  Thank you for hanging in there while I took a much needed break.  School has started this week and two of my three children are now in school.  It's pretty quiet here during the day and the baby really seems to miss her brother and sister.

Yesterday she kept going into both of their bedrooms and she was calling their names, it was so cute.  I decided to make another Halloween card and I wanted to use a SU stamp set that I haven't inked yet.

I simply stamped the skeleton and then I stamped and cut out the pumpkin and placed it in the skeleton's hand.  My black card stock was punched using my bat lace border punch and the little bats in the upper right hand corner were also punched using an EK Success bat punch.

My decorative paper is from the dollar spot at my local Target store, don't you just love their dp?  I'm going to check next time I go and look to see if they have any Christmas dp.

Well, that's about it for today, I'll be back again on Monday with my regualr scheduled postings.  Just in case anyone might be interested I am currently hosting a CAS (clean & simple) Christmas card swap and everyone is welcome to join us.  You will find more details about my swap here.

Also, there is a new gallery comment contest up and running on Splitcoast stampers.  You can find more information regarding that game here.  Come join us, it's a great way to leave some comments and make someone's day!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
