As I promised yesterday here is my card for this week's CAS-tastic challenge.  The challenge this week was to create a Simple   CAS card.

We were to use three of the following techniques:  Stamped (or printed) Image, Inked Edges, Masking, Paper Piercing, Lace, or Embossing.

I decided to use these on my card:  Stamped Images, Inked Edges, and Masking.

I realize that I did make a similar card once before, but this time my card is even quicker to create.  I can easily imagine making 50 of these for my holiday cards.

When I purchased this stamp set I cut apart the tree and sentiment so that they are two stamps instead of one- this makes for easier stamping.  To create my card I simply stamped the tree image, and then I wiped off the bird and colored it using my real red marker.

Next I created a mask by stamping another image on a scrap piece of card stock and cutting just along the bottom of the tree line.  Then I placed my mask just along the bottom of the trees and I began sponging my background.

I decided not to sponge too much on my background, but I did leave an area around the bird without any sponging and then I just needed to stamp the sentiment.

I just realized that I should have probably added some glitter on the trees; I bet that would have really dressed up my card.

Tomorrow I want to try and post a card using chalks.  That was today's ways to use it challenge on Splitcoast stampers.  I can't tell you how long it's been since I've used my chalks, so this will certainly be a challenge for me.

Have a great rest of the day!  I'm off to finish my house work and get supper started.  My son has his last swimming lesson tonight, so I'd better get going!
